Welcome to the second annual Student Empowerment Month – powered by Varsity Brands. 

This asynchronous experiences is designed to you create a meaningful Mental Health Awareness event on your school campus in May for Mental Health Awareness Month.

How does this event work?

It’s simple! First, choose dates that work for your school. Then, follow the three lessons road map with your class or leadership club. Each lesson requires 35 to 45 minutes to complete. Watch the opening video, complete the We Do activity as a class or group, and then jump into the Team Empowerment Packet to start working on your Mental Health Awareness project.

A Lasting Legacy

Earn a Legacy Recognition Banner for your School and celebrate your students! Everyone registered for Student Empowerment Month is eligible to earn a Legacy Banner. Demonstrate that you’ve met the requirements by submitting your school’s work through our quick and easy online form.

Requirements Include:

  1. You must already be registered for Student Empowerment Month.
  2. Complete Lessons 1 – 3 provided by The Collective.
  3. Implement 1 GREAT Goal Project during Mental Health Awareness Month (can include those projects provided or a very short description a project designed by you and your students).
  4. Confirm that you collaborated with at least 1 local resource (can be school or community-based – for example: school counseling center, school nurses, community mental healthcare provider, etc. ).
  5. Provide a 1 paragraph summary of your students’ projects with details about how you plan to promote and continue your efforts in the next school year.
  6. Provide a minimum of 3 photos and/or videos per Mental Health Awareness Project to document completion and highlight the achievement.
